About the Bats

We're just your run-of-the-mill Halloween lovers, with lots of fond memories of trick-or-treating. The most spectacular part of trick-or-treating for us was stumbling across those hidden gems of over-produced haunted front lawns, or little cardboard mazes the adults would have set up to give us a good scaring.

In recent years, it seems like Halloween has been drying up around here. Our first year we moved here(way back in '17) we got NO trick or treaters! Can you believe it? So we set out to change that.

The next year, we converted our front porch into a little cave-alcove(See above picture!), with a lot of cardboard, bedsheets, spider webs and a WHOLE lot of prayer and duct tape! I think it's safe to say, the people who came, loved it. Which only inspired us to build it up bigger the next year.

We built a PVC pipe structure and covered the whole thing in tarps and pink insulation foam, carved up to look like a castle facade. We filled it with spooky stuff and friends dressed as monsters, and even had a huge, handmade.. well.. we'll leave that part a secret for you to discover this year! Of course, last year we had that big rainstorm, with so much wind, at one point I was out there holding the foam walls against the wind! Mother nature can't stop this Halloweeners love of the holiday! Once it really started coming down we had to close up, of course. We didn't want anyone to be unsafe, but we're happy to report we had almost ONE HUNDRED people last year!!

This year, we've build up a structure out of 2x4s, are building an actual roof, a flooring(So any rain will just wash underneath us instead of all over our feet!) and lots more props for our spookfest! We really hope you'll join us this year.

We wanted to throw a little website up for everyone who was interested in our haunt, so you can see how things are coming along! Of course, if you want to be surprised, you may want to skip our GALLERY page- but then again, monsters sure look different in the dark, don't they?

We look forewards to seeing you there, Halloweeners :)
