Bats in the Beltram will be OPEN this year, yes, despite Covid and all that junk. We will be opening at SUNDOWN on Friday AND Saturday! The Halloween gods have blessed us with a weekend scare-fest this year! The haunt is COMPLETELY FREE- although we do encourage donations if you have a good time! We will have a tip jar at the snack table, and we have a gofundme if you'd rather not bring cash but still want to support us: https://tinyurl.com/batfunds I know there's a lot of concern right now with the virus and how it's going to affect everyone's plans; I know we've been wracking our brains to keep the local haunt going- as well as keeping everyone safe and uninfected. I just wanted to pop on here and let anyone who was interested in coming again, know- YES, we WILL be open again this year(Rain or shine- if the county cancels trick-or-treat we will STILL be running!!). We are taking extra steps to keep you safe: 1) I know it's a pain in the ass, but we will be social distancing- you may recall last year we did one group at a time; this year the groups will strictly be the people you arrive with(Assumedly your friends and family). This may make the line take a little longer, but it will also enhance the scares, with less people to protect you from the monsters! 2) We have a -ton- of hospital-grade aerosols on hand that are touted(and may or may not have some dumb scientific studies about killing viruses, idk, I aint no science-scientist!(Thats a joke, they really are rated to kill viruses)) to help stop the spread of coronavirus. We will be spraying areas down every 30 minutes. We would do this more frequently but after testing it being sprayed every 5 minutes in a closed-in area, we found that much aeresol MAY make our actors pass out and POSSIBLY die, so we're just gonna stick with 30 minutes. We will also endeavour to have enough hand-sanitizer on hand for everyone, easily accessable once you exit and before you enter. I can't guarantee we will have enough- you've all seen how these things have runs happen on them, but we will make the effort. 3) All of our staff and actors have been tested and will be tested again 1 week before the haunt to ensure nobody you meet will be a risk factor. It means we may be understaffed this year; so your patience will be very much appreciated! 4) Sadly, I will not be making homemade treats this year for everyone to enjoy :( Also an open container of hot cider probably isn't the best idea, either. Instead, we will have bottles of water and possibly bottles of tea or soda on hand. My heart is broken I won't be able to make caramel apples again. I've been working on them all year to make the recipe right, dangit! 5) All of the interior sets will be made of non-porous materials(With exception of the spiderwebs- you GOTTA have spiderwebs), so as to not pose additional risks for spreading the virus. We know this seems like a lot; but most of it is on our end. Generally, for visitors, this will boil down to; "Observe social distancing, bring your own hand sanitizer if you can, have a little patience if the line takes too long". I just wanted to make sure everyone is aware we are doing everything we can to ensure folks have the ability to come out and have a great halloween, even if the county cancels, we are 100% rain or shine- and will be open Friday AND saturday this year!!! Happy Haunting, ya'll!
